When you purchase it, always be sure that it is non-comedogenic which means that the medication will not block the pores. Tea tree oil is a popular natural remedy that works similar to Benzoyl peroxide but is less irritating to the skin.

  • Sulfur works in several ways like Benzoyl peroxide. It is not widely used, as it is believed to be not quite effective. Sulfur can be used as an option, if for some reason you cannot use tea tree oil or Benzoyl peroxide.

  • Glycolic acid gets rid of dead skin and it stimulates the production of new cells, which helps to unclog pores.

  • Acupuncture is a natural remedy, which involves changing diet and lifestyle and helps to cure the root causes of acne. Light therapy is costly but for many very helpful. It involves treatment of light in wavelength that helps to kill the bacteria.

  • If the above-mentioned remedies do not help then you should visit a doctor. Doctor will prescribe the antibiotics that are known to be effective. Erythromycin, Benzaclin and Azelaic acid cream all work for many people. Tetracycline drugs also kill the bacteria when taken orally and help many.
