Aging is a natural process; therefore, it is not possible to stop it. However, you can delay the aging process, if you take care of yourselves on a daily basis. Most of you know that as you grow old, your body needs dietary supplements and vitamins to replace the chemicals and substances, declining in the body.
As one grows old, their diets change and they eat less. Thus, there is a need of dietary supplements. In order to keep the levels of vitamins high, you need to take supplements to bring that level up to keep ourselves happy and healthy as we age.
Lack of vitamins can cause cancers and chronic diseases. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the need of vitamins you require and how they will help keep you stay healthy and safe.
There are two different kinds of vitamins in our body, one is the fat-soluble [A, D, E, K] and the second one is the water-soluble [B, C, P].
Overdoses of fat -soluble vitamins can be toxic and lead to health problems. The vitamins A, E should come from our food or a supplement to help prevent cardiac disease and some cancers. Therefore, it is very important that you have the correct amount of these vitamins.
Water-soluble vitamins are not stored in the body. These vitamins help the kidneys to eliminate your excess waste every day so it is very essential to get the correct amount daily. You should consult your doctor to know which vitamins and supplements best suit you.
When you start getting old, your diet changes and you do not like to eat much. Moreover, the foods we buy sometimes do not have all or enough vitamins in them. The crops are sprayed with fertilizer and chemicals to increase the crop production. Due to incorporation of the chemicals and fertilizers, it lowers the vitamins in these crops.
As you get older, few vitamins are no longer available to us in the required amounts. This is caused by the decrease in food intake and because our bodies are no longer as efficient in processing all the foods that we ingest. Almost one-third of older people can no longer absorb Vitamin B from their food. Vitamin B is very essential for our body as it helps the red blood cells to produce and maintain the nervous system. The intake of vitamin B-12 and B-6reduces heart disease.
In this way, if you eat balanced diet it can cause your vitamin level to increase. You should be aware that Vitamin D is produced from the sun. As you get older, you go less outdoors and are unable to get the Vitamins. Thus, it is recommended to take vitamin D, as it helps the brittle bones in your body and make them stronger.
One of the most important aspects about healthy aging is to have a well balance diet three times a day. Incorporate the vitamins in proper proportions in your daily diet and live a healthy life.
