Dressing Style

Dressing fashionably doesn't mean trying to look like someone in their twenties. Your body and your mind are changing. The time has come to adapt your style to suit the new you.

Avoid at all costs
Cropped tops which reveal your navel; miniskirts; body piercing; hair that is overly long; garishly dyed hair (beware of 'menopause red'!); anything your mother-in-law wears.

Choose only occasionally and with care
Cheap jewellery; sequins; fabrics with leopard or python prints; stiletto heels; trainers and other trendy footwear loved by teenagers; dark colors close to your face, because they make you look unwell; everything your daughter loves.

Bear in mind your new shape
Has your waist thickened a bit? No more thin, tight belts! Instead choose wide ones, worn a little loose just above the hips. Is your tummy a little more round? Hide it with long jackets or blouses. Have your breasts become saggy? Dare to wear an uplift bra.

Some Facts

  • Stay slim and you will be able to wear whatever you like.
  • Pretend you are a fashion editor. Get all your clothes out of your wardrobe and invent new combinations.
