Make Up Face

Make up is one of your most powerful allies, so you must certainly not stop using it! However, the older you get, the less room there is for error. The time has come for you to review the make up you have and to become a real expert.

Don't let long-sightedness be an obstacle
You must not stop using make up on the pretext that you cannot see as well. Get used to using a magnifying mirror when doing your face and your eyes, and then put on your glasses to correct any possible mistakes. Keep them on for making up your lips.

Foundation cream an blusher: use sparingly

  • Foundation cream
Replace with tinted moisturizing cream (with protection against ultraviolet rays).
  • Blusher
Choose orangey shades rather than bright red but also avoid shades that are too dull. using a brush, move from the center of the cheek (on a level with the nostrils) up to the temple. Your features will seem to have been lifted upwards.
  • Face powder
Only use of a very small amount, as it tends t accentuate wrinkles. Choose a powder that has none of the tones of your tinted cream. Apply with a large brush on the shiny areas only (point of the chin, nose, forehead). Buy a compact of the same powder for use during the day.

Be careful with the eyes!

  • Avoid at all costs
Liquid eye-liner, which hardens your expression and makes you look older; false eyelashes; too much mascara, which can go lumpy; eye shadows in shades of bright blue, light green and other loud colors. They did not even suit you 25 years ago!

  • Use immediately
A brown eye-shadows pencil to gently emphasize the outline of the eye; two or three colored eyeshadows (dark olive green, brown, dark purple); pearly eyeshadow (white or pinkish) - dab little touches under your eyebrows when putting on your evening make-up.

Some Facts

  • The key word is 'soften'. To achieve this effect use a cotton bud for the eyeshadow and eyelid pencil, cotton wool for the blusher and gently dab your lips with a paper tissue after putting on your lipstick.
  • Your eyebrow line must be perfect. Look out for stray hairs.
