Hand Care
Most of women spend a lot of money on skin care products such as face creams, moisturizers, lotions etc. However, they consider only the skin care of face, while they ignore the hand care.
The hands also need attention, as the condition of the hands depends on the care taken. They are the areas that experience the utmost exposure to the sun and the elements. The skin on the palm is thick and tough, while the skin on back of the hands is soft, thin, and prone to premature aging. The palm has no natural lubrication, as it does not contain sebaceous glands; they become dry and rough.
Though there are number of hand care products available in the market such as hand care cream and body moisturizing lotion that assure to take care of hands, you can also use the simple home remedies for hand care. These are effective and cheaper too.
Hand care tips:
- Rub a piece of lemon over your hands at least once a day, before washing with soap. This will help to delay the onset of age-spots.
- Always wear rubber gloves when doing household work like dusting, cleaning out a cupboard or arranging shelves. Wearing cool cotton gloves would be more preferable.
- Long nails look good, but only if they are kept in shape. File them regularly and keep them clean.
- Take almond oil and honey in equal proportion and mix it. Massage this mixture into the nails and cuticles.
- Consume whole grains, spinach, yogurt, eggs in your diet.
Hand care at home:
- Extend your fingers wide and clap hard, so that your fingers of both hands are associated - i.e. thumb to thumb, forefinger to forefinger. This exercise is not only good for hands but also is helpful for blood circulation.
- Draw out your hands in front of you, pull back curling in fingers with as much pressure as possible, as if you are trying hard to bring in something heavy.
- Hold both hands in ahead of you with palms facing towards you, loosen their wrist grip and flap them backwards and forwards. Feel them tingle as the blood rushes to them.
- Squeeze each fingertip as hard as possible for about five seconds.
- Close your fingers and encircle your wrists ten times in each direction.
Another solution on how to take care of hands is to visit a beauty parlor. Most parlors provide an intensive manicure, which could last from half an hour to an hour, in which you get a full cleansing and moisturizing treatment by the use of hand masks, followed by a hand massage.
