This problem can be a result of wrong eating habits, exposure to the extreme hot and cold temperatures and use of improper under-eye creams. When the skin around eyes loses elasticity, it becomes dry and produces wrinkles. As soon as you first notice the wrinkles and lines around the eyes, you should start the treatment so that they do not aggravate.

Causes:

  • The skin around eyes is extremely sensitive and prone to the dryness. When the skin becomes dry it develops wrinkles around eyes. The dryness around the eyes is caused because of the absence of the necessary oil glands in the respective area. These glands secrete sebum that mainly works to maintain the moisture on skin. As compared to the other parts of body, the skin around eyes possesses less number of oil glands and therefore, it is more susceptible to the dryness.
  • Another important factor of forming dead and dry skin around eyes is the tension and stress. The use of unsuitable cosmetics or an excessive use of cosmetics can also produce some allergic reactions and cause the skin to dry. The drying of skin can also form dark circles around the eyes. This can ultimately affect one's look.
