Dry Skin Treatment
Introduction:
When the skin loses its moisture retaining capacity, it becomes dry. One can easily overcome this problem by following an appropriate dry skin treatment. As one grows older, the skin tends to become drier. Various other factors are responsible for dry skin. These factors include improper eating habits, exposure of skin to the extreme climatic conditions, use of unsuitable skin creams and sometimes genetic characters. Prevention is always considered better than cure. There are several dry skin treatments that may help you minimize the problem. Before we come to the treatment, let us discuss some symptoms of the problem. Recognizing the problem will be helpful in treating it properly.

Dry skin treatment:
- The best treatment for dry skin is to drink minimum 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. Warm water is preferable than cold water.
- Mix 3-4 drops of lime juice, half teaspoon of vitamin E oil or olive oil and half teaspoon of glycerin to prepare a lotion for dry skin. Applying this mixture as a scrub will help you to remove the dry skin layers.
- Proper sleep helps to recover the energy and freshness of the body and skin. Therefore, it is recommended to take a minimum 6-8 hours sleep daily.
- Add 2 to 3 drops of lime juice to a teaspoon of milk cream. Apply it on skin 15 minutes before bath. This treatment helps to maintain skin moisture. It is best to be used in winter.
- One should include juicy fruits in daily diet and avoid dry, over-fried and stale food. Salty and sour food works well against dry skin. Make sure that your diet contains minerals, vitamins, nutrients and proteins. Usually fish, eggs, rice, cream nuts, carrots, soybeans, mushrooms, peas, tomatoes, spinach, oranges, almond, sprouts and many other fruits and green vegetables are recommended for healing dry skin.
- Warm fresh food and fatty food like olive oil or ghee is best recommended for dry skin.
- Herbal tea is also good to be used for treating dry skin. It is beneficial to drink this tea empty stomach early in the morning coupled with lemon squeeze.
- Massage your body with herbal oil every day before bath. After bath, apply daily some moisturizing body lotion. This cream or lotion naturally provides moisture required for dry skin.
- You can also use the face packs available in the market containing apple or almond for dry skin nourishment.
- It is better to keep away harmful soaps, detergents, drugs, ointments, perfumes and powder because such products aggravate the dryness of skin.
- It is recommended not to use alcohol-mixed lotions and chemicals-added soaps for dry skin.
- One should wash the face and hands 2 to 3 times a day, but not more than that because excessive washing also exasperates drying of skin.
Dry skin arises various skin problems, but those can be kept under control using appropriate treatments. You can go for different home remedies or buy ready to use market products to treat dry skin.
