Black lips often tend to throw a bad image on individuals lifestyle despite having been blessed with a perfect skin and figure. Having natural dark colored lips from birth is not an issue, but for those with medium and fair complexion whose lips turn black or start turning dark black after a certain point of time, is a worry.

Remedies for Black Lips
- Use a toothbrush merely to exfoliate the dead skin cells off your lips. However, bear in mind to use them gently in order to avoid hurting your delicate lips.
- Followed by this, apply a thin coat of a good lip balm.
- Massage your lips gently with a good lip balm every night.
- Also, ensure that you drink at least eight glasses of water every day.
- In the morning, use lip balm with at SPF 15 or higher to protect them against glaring sunrays. Follow this routine thoroughly every day.
- Try using a concealer on your dark lips before wearing your favorite lipstick. For better results, use a lip liner to outline your lips and then fill them up with lipstick or lip-gloss. Always look out for best brands as far as cosmetics are concerned.
- Incase you notice that your lips have started to turn dark after the use of lip balm or lipstick of an average brand, then discontinue use immediately. Consult a dermatologist for repairing the damage undergone.
- Maintain a healthy diet and consume a lot of fruits and green vegetables. Simultaneously avoid consuming caffeine and smoking totally; if you want to get rid of black lips. Your lips will not experience improvement until you stop smoking. As the stains are caused due to nicotine and they will only keep getting darker and darker.
- Try doing exercise at least thrice a week to keep a good health.
- Apply limejuice to your lips on a daily basis, which helps to get rid of black lips.
- Stop sucking on your bottom lip. Saliva will dry out your lips, making them worse.
- Lips can also turn dark due to pigmentation caused due to sun exposure or hormones. Avoid stepping out in the sun.
- Use only good quality lipsticks that have not expired. As applying old, expired lipsticks and make-up can cause damage.
- Apply glycerin or olive oil to your lips regularly every night before going to sleep and prevent them from getting dry. This is an effective home remedy for black lips.
