Moisturizers for different Skin Types

Moisturizers are complex mixtures of chemical agents, which help to make the external layers of the skin soft and supple. As you know, each one possesses different types of skin. Determine your skin type and see how your skin responds to different skincare products. Then choose the products that are suitable for you. Whether your skin is oily, dry, sensitive, or a combination type, you can follow the perfect moisturizing solution for your skin type.

Different skin types tend to get best advantage from certain moisturizing products made for specific skin types.

The skin types mainly include dry skin, oily skin, combination skin and sensitive skin. Here, we provide the moisturizers suitable for different types of skin.

Dry Skin

Skin that does not produce the correct amount of natural oils tends to become dry. Continuous exposure to the elements such as sun, wind or chemicals like chlorine, make our skin dry without warning. An oil-based moisturizer is the best for dry skin. As the skin starts gaining moistures then gradually decrease the frequency of moisturizer.

Oily Skin

Overproduction of sebum, an oil producing gland causes oily skin. With the proper skin care regimen, oily skin can become soft, smooth, clean and beautiful. It is difficult to take care of oily skin, but the proper combination of cleansing, exfoliating, toning, and moisturizing makes all the difference. A gentle and oil-free moisturizer works best for the skin, which is excessively oily. You can also try water-based moisturizers to keep away from adding any additional oils to the skin.

Combination Skin

This skin type is a combination of both dry and oily skin. Care for combination skin with a different routine. If the skin is dry then moisturize regularly with an oil-based moisturizer. For oily skin use a water-based, mild moisturizer. If skin shows both types of skin, look for a moisturizer that is marked for combination skin or non-oily fluid (that is always lighter than "cream") to the whole face. If your skin in the T-Zone i.e. forehead, nose and chin is very oily and on the sides of the face and cheeks very dry use two types of moisturizers: one light and oil free for the T-Zone and the second more rich for normal/dry skin on the rest of the face. It is good if your moisturizer has UV protection and antioxidants.

Sensitive Skin

Sensitive skin needs a lot of care, as skin is sensitive to different cleansers, chemicals and naturally occurring elements. Therefore, the best approach to care for sensitive skin is to use a mild moisturizer. For the best care and protection, choose moisturizers that are fragrance-free and hypoallergenic. Use as required.
