Skin Exfoliation
As our skin grows, it casts off dead skin. These dead cells clog the pores, cause blackheads and make skin surface look dull. Exfoliation lightly removes these dead cells and reveals new softer, clearer and glowing skin. It also helps in boosting the blood circulation.
How to Exfoliate Face
- First, clean the skin to remove cream and the residue of make up and then exfoliate the face or the body.
- Always scrub gently on the wet face or body.
- Use circular motion to remove the dead skin.
- Use vertical motion to wipe the body clean of the scrub particles.
- Rinse with water and pat dry with soft towel.
- After exfoliating, apply moisturizer on your face and body lotion on the body.
Various Ways to Exfoliate
Pumice Stone
Use pumice stone to clean yourself while bathing to remove the grime and smooth knees, elbows and ankles.
Loofah
It is an efficient form of exfoliation and body buffing. Moisture it to soften and use on legs, arms and back with or without soap, making the skin soft and tingling. It also helps in stimulating blood circulation. Carefully rinse it and then hang it to dry to remove traces of soap and moisture.
Buffing
A particular buffing sponge can be used along with a cleanser to remove dead skin and remove dullness. It is best suited to dry and sensitive skin.
Exfoliation Cream
The creams, gels, or polishes which contain grains like oatmeal can be used for exfoliation to remove the dead skin, upon massaging in the skin.
Astringent
Astringents can be used as mild exfoliants if carefully used.
Exfoliating Scrub
Mix brown sugar, honey and sesame oil well and use the paste as scrub. It clears the skin thoroughly, without disturbing collagen fibers responsible for skin’s firm, young and healthy look.
