Sunscreens

The dangerous effects of the harsh rays of the sun that can do harm to the body are no longer news. Rather, awareness is now on how to protect ourselves from these rays with sunscreen. It is true that a little bit of sunshine is helpful to the body as it can be a source of vitamin D. However, too much exposure to the sun will certainly damage the skin.

The primary injurious agents are the Ultraviolet A (UVA) and Ultraviolet B (UVB).
Both of them are components of sunlight and are the main cause of skin cancer, altered pigmentation, dilated blood vessels and textural changes of the skin. Moreover, when you combine all these irregularities the result is an aging skin. When someone has sunburn, exposing himself more to the sun without sunscreen protection is damaging to his skin. It increasing the probability of getting skin cancer.

The same is true for the process of tanning because every exposure further damages the skin regardless of whether the skin is sunburned or not. Due to this, experts declared that no skin tanning is safe.

Over the years, various types of sun screens have been produced, with built in capabilities to protect the skin from the damaging rays of the sun. When sunscreens are worn properly and regularly, they can provide maximum protection from sunrays. However, nothing still beats staying out of the sun to avoid damage to your skin regardless of whether you are wearing a sunscreen, hat or protective clothing.

An amazing thing about sunscreens is their versatility. They are not just limited to be applied on the skin. There are other variants of sunscreens like window tinting, sunshades and several other sun protective devices available for home and automobiles.

It is very easy to apply sunscreen to your skin and it is probably the cheapest way to protect yourself and your family from the sun. Because of their extremely easy mode of application to the skin, sunscreens are now an integral part of facial, lip and body moisturizing products.

A good sunscreen should guard the skin against UVA and UVB rays from the sun and at the same time should help the skin maintain its natural oils and moisture. The natural sunscreen or sun cream can relieve, nourish and protect the skin from sun's rays. On the other hand, many chemical sunscreens clog the pores.

Sunscreens are always useful in summer, are an important adjunct to natural protection (hats & clothing), and should be applied to areas not otherwise protected. Use maximum protection SPF 15+. Apply to clean, dry skin. Wait for 15 minutes before going out into the sun.
Reapply frequently, but remember that reapplication only keeps up the protection of the first application; it does not give you any extra protection.

Remember you will never get a chance to reverse the effects of a damaged skin such as skin cancer. So, the practical way to prevent this is by using sunscreens to protect yourself from the sun.
