Foot Skin Care

We neglect our feet a lot. Foot skin care is very important. Taking care of our feet normally takes a back seat when compared to other beauty treatments. If we want to stay active and comfortable all through out lives, then we need to take care of our feet. Taking care of our feet is important as if they are damaged then a simple job as if walking can become a painful exercise. Foot care can be simple and easy.

Feet are the hardest working parts of the body, but we rarely make time to give them the attention they need. A weekly pampering pedicure and massage is the answer, as it will leave feet feeling refreshed and ready for action.

Foot care tips :

  • Soak feet in a bowl of water for around ten minutes. Add two to three drops of essential oil of lavender for an even more relaxing effect. Dry the feet. Clip the toenails across and file smooth. Rub the feet with an exfoliating body scrub, paying attention to any rough skin that may have formed on the heels and the balls of the feet. Wash off all the traces of scrub and dry the feet thoroughly. There are lots of foot skin care tips are there.
  • Support the foot with one hand by placing your thumb on the sole and your fingers on the top. Use the other hand to massage a cooling foot lotion or and overall body moisturizer into the foot. Start at the base of each toe and work down the foot making small circular movements with your thumb and forefinger.
  • Work the lotion between the toes and massage each toe by gently rolling it between your fingers. This helps to stimulate the circulation and pressure points.
  • Lie down for about five minutes with your feet either above the head, resting a pillow or against a wall. This relieves tension in the feet and legs and can help aching veins.

Foot Exercise :

As our feet are the part of our body, they too need exercise. You need to exercise your feet daily to keep them healthy. The best exercise for your feet is to walk bare feet on the grass in your garden.

Foot Stretch :

Sit down on the floor with your legs in front of you. Loop a towel around your feet. Keep the heels on the floor and pull the towel with both hands. Use the towel to draw the middle foot and toes towards your body. Hold in this position for a few seconds and then relax. Repeat this exercise five times.

Ankle stretch

Sit with your legs stretched out in front of you. Point your foot down and then bring it towards you as far as it is comfortable. Hold a few seconds, then relax and repeat 10 times.

The skin of your feet needs to be renewed like the skin in any part of your body. There are different types of scrubs available in the market. Before scrubbing your feet, you can soak it in a homemade foot soak.

Given below is a soak for your feet, which will make your skin smooth and beautiful.

Take one cup of lemon juice, two tablespoons of olive oil, 1/4 cup of milk, cinnamon for smell and water. Mix all the ingredients in a tub and soak your feet in it for a while. This soak will leave your skin refreshed and fragrant. After this, wash your feet with a mild soap. Follow this foot care for a few weeks and your skin on your feet will be silky and smooth.
