Dark skin marks, brown pigmentation marks and freckles are common skin problems observed among individuals. Dark skin marks are caused due to sunburn, liver spots, macule, age spots, eczema, acne and uneven distribution of melanin skin pigment.
There are several ways to get rid of dark skin marks, but in general, home remedies are more effective in reducing dark skin spots.
Following are few effective home remedies to get rid of dark skin marks:
- Rub fresh limejuice with the help of cotton ball on the dark skin marks. Leave it to dry. Later on, wash it off with rose water. This is highly successful home remedy to get rid of dark skin marks.
- Take some fresh buttermilk, apply it on the affected skin area, and leave it for about 10-15 minutes. Later wash it off with normal water. This can be done twice a day. The presence of lactic acid in the buttermilk helps to reduce the dark skin marks.
- Massage almond oil on the dark skin marks regularly. Allow it to stay for about 20 minutes and then wash it off with the help of cotton ball soaked in rose water. This is effective in removing dark skin marks.
- Apply fresh cucumber regularly on the affected areas. This helps to lighten the dark skin marks.
- Constant and gentle massage of the affected area with Vitamin E oil is effective to lighten the dark skin marks. Besides treating the dark skin marks, vitamin E oil is helpful in restoring skin moisture and suppleness and makes your skin soft and glowing.
- Add few drops of rose water in sandalwood powder. Make a smooth paste and apply it on the affected area. Leave it until it becomes dry and then wash it with water. This is extremely effective home remedy to get rid of dark skin marks.
- Add some cucumber juice and a pinch of turmeric powder to one tablespoon of fresh limejuice. This is a natural remedy which helps to lighten your dark skin marks.
- Add a pinch of turmeric powder and some fresh yoghurt to one tablespoon of gram flour. Make a smooth paste and apply on the affected area. This is one of the effective remedies to get rid of dark skin marks.
- Extract pulp from tomato, apply it on your skin, and leave it for one hour. Then wash it with lukewarm water. Tomatoes include potassium and vitamin C, hence are effective in lightening dark skin marks.
- Lastly ensure that you drink at least 10-12 glasses of water on a daily basis, water helps in flushing all the toxins and waste material and restores skin moisture and natural glow.
